AHRQ States Snapshots

Each year the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) releases its State Snapshots that provide detailed, state-level performance summaries on treating cancer, diabetes, maternal and child disorders, heart disease and other illnesses that impact quality of life, workforce productivity and insurance costs. Individual hospital data is not provided in these summaries.

The State Snapshots, developed with data from the National Healthcare Quality & Disparities Report, are designed to illustrate three questions:

• What is the current state of health care quality and disparities in my state?
• How have health care quality and disparities changed over time?
• Where is the need to improve health care quality and reduce disparities greatest?
