Protect Medicaid Payment Program

The Medicaid Directed Payment Program (DPP) is a critically important, legislatively-approved program that that helps hospitals bridge the gap between inadequate Medicaid reimbursement rates and the true cost of care. Recently, hospital leaders from across the nation wrote President Trump a letter urging him to protect DPP.

That program helps hospitals provide vital treatment to patients across America who rely on Medicaid to access essential health care services. Medicaid serves about 80 million adults and children across the U.S. – that’s roughly 1 in 5 Americans. As Washington considers changes to Medicaid, it is critical to protect programs like DPP. Failing to do so would harm patients, access to care, the economy, and health care providers.
