2023 Community Benefit Report January 16, 2023 Virginia’s hospitals and health systems provided $3.1 billion in community benefit and other types of community support in the Commonwealth in 2021 according to the 2023 Annual Report on Community Benefit by the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. Virginia hospitals also account for $60 billion in positive economic impact in the state.
